| God looked around his garden, and he found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth, and he saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain, he knew you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills hard to climb, so he closed your eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. -Author Unknown We Love You Grandma! What is very interesting about this poem is, my mom found this while she was 'googling' her great grandma's name, Beatrice Pierce. I thought it would be appropriate in memory of our grandma's death, Beatrice's daughter. |

| I've always liked this poem. I can so relate to this. I honestly feel my grandma's presence with me and my family a lot. I know she is keeping a very close eye on all of us and she has shown her blessing in many ways. I have placed one of her rings with her birthstone (and mine too) on my keychain as a piece of her with me wherever I go. I don't leave the house without those keys, and I know she has been my protector. Thank you Grandma, I love you and miss you! Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. (Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die!) ~Mary Elizabeth Frye 1905-2004, 'Do not stand at my grave and weep', (1932) |
